02 01 05 + 10 - 2 New Years resolutions...
Never was any good at them, so if I make it "to regularly post on the weblog", you can all watch me fail this year...
... I give it til mid Jan, myself. I will try though, honest! I think
this year could be real fun. Firstly Storyville and Doug Hodge, both
good stuff. Then there are other possibilities... World domination
can't be far away. Actually, I think we could end up with some really
interesting, entertaining and fun music. One of the more distant
possibilities is a an album with Ronnie Carroll - sixties crooner and
eurovision entry (twice!) - and I (amongst others) have been thinking
about tracks we could get him to do. First 5 suggestions - There is a
Bed by Marc Almond, although I know it through Mary Coughlans version,
Missing by Everything But the Girl, Levi Stubbs Tears by Billy Bragg,
Let Your Love Decide by Azec Camera (a bit of a croon already really)
and Closing Time by Lyle Lovett. Its difficult to think of songs that
could be covered in a more intimate, round the piano style but I think
all of those would stand up. Good songs always will...
