storyville
..storyville was a ........live combo...myself and lol ford guitar ,put together in the early/mid 90s...........it came about because we both just wanted to go out and play some gigs .........i suppose without all the hassle..ie a band ,a tour ,a crew ,reh etc etc ..........so we decided to write a bunch of songs that we could play as a combo ...........2 voices and 2 guitars ...........we played some gigs in london ...clubs etc ...did a couple of live radio things and a live TV appearance ...and we recorded a whole bunch of stuff ...then i think we started the blinder album ..and the idea of storyville kind of drifted ........its been great digging out the DATS ...and trying to put together an album ...some of the songs appeared on oppos albums ..and we did a couple of days recording in our studio in london ..called the workshop based in the elephant and castle, ...featuring david becket on drums (he wasnt allowed sticks ..so everythings played with hands!..) josi on percussion ,marcus on bass ,lol guitar and myself voice and guitar ..........i really like the feel of the recordings ..we sat in a circle and played everything live ...and the recording room was an old workshop(wooden floors and brick walls ...which we left exposed ..a great natural reverb .........)...........anyway im going to include 4 or 5 songs from those 2 days ansd some other stuff ...10 songs in all ........and we are hoping to include the TV clip on the cd ...........thanks again for all the feedback ..and the record sales ..it has meant we can put the storyville album out ...thanks .....we are also looking at a lost oppos album ..and the back cat ....we will keep you informed about progress ..........
