Hello Mark …

Really great great great ideas.
I hope we’ll have access to all this music one day. Free or not !

Some ideas :

please avoid MP3 for music on the site. If you have enought web space please post either shorten or flac files (compressed but lossless). MP3 is a real crap (imho).

on the CD side, I wouldn’t care if you’d send them in a simple cardboard box, even without jewel case. We can almost all print our artwork and jewels cases are really cheap to buy afterward. If you can cut the cost and release more stuff, cut as much as you can.

and if quantities are not enought to be commercially viable, why not make simple CDr releases ? Blanks are for nothing nowdays and you’d only have to burn the necessary quantities. This would allow a better stock management (no deleted items, available on request, fast delivery …;)

and if you can get enought money from these little releases to set up a new gig for the band, nothing better could happen.

take care
shine on.

How about Ogg Vorbis? I’ve seen in tests that it does very well in sound quality. We could always put several different filetypes up for different bandwidth situations. We don’t have endless bandwidth ourselves but we could see how it went.

Mark,

what “lost album” from 1980 are you referring to? Any more details, please?!
Btw, the NPS CD is just playing in my CD. I found it today in my mailbox when I returned home from from my vacation (NYPP was there as well :-).
Great albums – great thanks!
