November 2009 - release of "Auchmithie Forever", compilation of early bedroom tapes and rehearsal room recordings on vinyl. Suitably "rough". Available for purchase from Dulcitone Records here:

October 2006 - after being shunned by almost every single book written on punk, we have at last made it into print on Alex Ogg's, "No More Heroes". Thanks Alex - buy it here.

June 2006 - the Scrotum Poles film has been discovered! Nine minutes or so of Super 8 Monkees-type jollity from 1980.

May 2006: we have recently heard of the death of Scott Preston, aged 42. Scott, "the fifth Scrotum Pole" and singer/leader of Dundee punk band Revolt, was our roadie and a highlight of the set would often be when Scott got on to the stage and danced around to "Radio Tay" and, his favourite,"Cocaine" (mp3).

Scott is the "shadow" on the bottom left of the "Revelation" ep cover.
Stripey took the picture.
Although we hadn't spoken to Scott for years we will always remember his energy and commitment. He will be sadly missed.
March 2006: article in the Guardian March 31st 2006 about DIY and "Messthetics Greatest Hits" which features the Scrotum Poles".

This is the website for the Scottish diy/punk band who existed for a few years at the end of the 70's/80's. Although only one single, "Revelation" and one tape, "Auchmithie Calling", were released during the lifetime of the band, a number of recordings have recently been unearthed from the back of dusty cabinets and suitcases in the loft. The quality is rough, naturally, normally with a simple mic attached to a tape recorder, but you can just about hear what we were on about all those years ago. We're going to release these bit by bit and offer some MP3's and any other stuff we can think of.

We'd also be delighted to hear any reminiscenses about the band - gigs, stories, etc - so contact us here.
